A. Woollcott: His Life & His World by Samuel H. Adams! Rare 1945 WWII Armed Services Edition 931!

Description

Up for sale is A. Woollcott: His Life and His World by Samuel Hopkins Adams! This is a biography of Alexander Woollcott by an acquaintance who helped him get his start in journalism. He traces the development of the youthful reporter into the national-network philosopher and resolves the seeming paradox of this man who gave himself with equal fervor to personal aggrandizement and selfless crusading. This is a very rare Armed Services Edition, No. 931, published in November 1945 and made available to the Armed Forces of the United States through an arrangement with the original publisher, Reynal & Hitchcock. It contains the complete book (480 pages) and measures about 4½” x 6½”. As shown in the photos, the book is in very good condition for its age with some cover wear and light soiling. The book is complete and remains well bound. It has nice clean bright pages with no writing, creases, rips or tears. This rare vintage World War II era Armed Services Edition book would make a great addition to your collection!

Take a look at the photos to best judge condition. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the book, pictures or shipping before bidding. Please pay within 3 days of auction end, and I'll ship the book ASAP, usually within 2 days of payment received.

Terms of Sale

Thank you for your business! Every item I sell is guaranteed to be as described, and I do everything possible to provide 5 STAR service. If you are satisfied, please leave 5 Star positive feedback. If you are not fully pleased, let me know if there is anything I can do to improve the transaction before leaving any feedback. Almost all items are vintage: they were purchased at estate sales/auctions, yard/garage sales or flea markets, and are sold “as found”; the history of previous ownership and storage conditions of the items is unknown, and I have no idea if a previous owner smoked or had pets. I do not accept returned items simply because you’ve changed your mind. Shipping & Handling charges are not refundable. Attention International Customers: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s Customs Office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. I do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as “gifts” since US and international government regulations prohibit such behavior.
