1862 $1 The Parish of Saint John the Baptist note from Edgard, Louisiana.
This note features a Vignette of Ceres seated on farming equipment beside a sheaf of wheat, flanked by "1" dies. On the far left is P.G.T. Beauregard. A bold "ONE" protector is printed in green. Issued a month before the fall of New Orleans in late April, 1862!
This Civil War era note grades Very Fine with ink burn, pinholes, and some edge tears.
It measures ~ 6.25" x 2.5".
