Victorian Book Shape Silver Vinaigrette 


Offered for sale is this exquisite and rare Victorian book shape vinaigrette. The front is monogrammed with the letter C with an engine turned finish to both the front and back. The spine of the 'book' appears just as an antique book would be. The interior has a gilt finish with a delightful pierced work grille with ornate design. This overall is in very good condition considering it is over 160 years old. The interior is fully hallmarked by Edward Smith, Birmingham, 1854. There is some light areas of tarnish to the inside as per photographs, no dents or nasty scratches to the exterior. Hinges and catches all work as they should. Measurements are 35x25mm. Weighs 18g.
