It won an AVforums Highly Recommended Reward, scoring 9 out of 10:
“The Denon AVC-X4700H AV receiver offers everything you could want in an attractive and well-made chassis. For a start, you get support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro-3D and IMAX Enhanced, plus there are nine channels of built-in amplification. That should be enough for most people, but if you need greater immersion there's processing for up to 11.2 channels. There's also support for HDMI 2.1, and although it's limited to a single input, at least Denon has addressed the initial issues with the chipset. The X4700 sounds as good as it looks, with solid, multi-channel grunt and some excellent object-based steering. Throw in simple set-up, the ability to work with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, Audyssey room correction, and support for Denon's HEOS multi-room system, and you've got yourself a very tempting and competitively priced AVR package.”
