Mickey Mantle Ernie Banks 1959 second All-Star Game Vintage 8x10" Wire Photo, action at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Aug. 3, 1959. Mickey Mantle attempts steal of second base, Ernie Banks is ready with the throw, but the American League won 5-3. The byline on front describes the action. The back of the photo has the "Associated Press Wirephoto" stamp, date stamps of Aug. 3, 1959 and Aug. 4, 1959, media notes and there is remnants of a lost paper byline still attached to the photo, all proof of the photo's vintage original authenticity. This was the second of two All-Star games played in 1959. The first game was on July 7, in Pittsburgh. This was the first All-Star game played on the west coast. It was the first of only two All-Star games not played in July. A tremendous vintage Mickey Mantle action photo!
