This vintage Gibraltar Civil Red Ensign is most likely from the 1940s, possibly 1950s.

Traditionally panel stitched in heavy flag cotton it measures 4ft x 2ft or approx. 123 x 61cm and, apart from the fading of the panel, the body of the flag is in excellent condition for its age, at least 70 years old.

The round panel which is stitched to the body of the flag has faded badly and now almost indiscernible though it is still possible to identify the Coat of Arms of Gibraltar. There's no damage or fraying to the fly end suggesting very little flying time, the canvas hem is in good order though the original rope and wooden toggle have been removed.  See photos.
