What an AWESOME collection of VERY educational VHS tapes/books on photography by world renowned photographer and innovator MONTE ZUCKER, known for his impeccable portrait and wedding photography/techniques!
OUR HISTORY:
My husband has ALWAYS been an AWESOME photographer of scenics! In 1992, a building in our small downtown was being renovated and was in need of some scenic photography. So, my husband took his CANNON REBEL 35mm FILM camera all around our county taking photos of EVERYTHING! With prints in hand, he went in the building to talk to the owner and show him his work. Well, the owner LOVED the photos and my husband sold him 60, framed 20x24 prints (which are still hanging in the hallways/offices today!!). A women working in downtown saw the photos, LOVED them, and asked him to photograph her wedding in 2 weeks, as her photographer had backed out. And, that started it all for us!
Well, with both of our natural abilities as assets (my husband in photography and me with people), we spent $6100 on used, top of the line camera equipment. However, we wanted to learn the CORRECT way to photograph people, which led us to take a MONTE ZUCKER photography seminar. Back in the 1960s, when other wedding photographers were snapping flat, static portraits at weddings, Monte decided to bring studio-quality portraiture to his weddings. The resulting images revolutionized wedding photography. Attending his seminar changed our lives, and in 1994, we rented a small storefront in downtown, which became our studio, and started our business as primarily wedding photographers/high school senior class photos/families. We kept our business small without employing others (except for my brother who became our videographer), because we wanted our photography to surpass the average photography in the industry. We had our successful business in downtown for 17 years and in our house for an additional 10 years, into the digital camera age. Now, we are retired and still photograph for our township/local fire department's fire fighters.
Unlike the film days, now a days, everyone thinks they are a photographer because they can push a button on a camera that does all the work, with no knowledge of proper techniques in posing and lighting, not to mention their lack of marketing/people skills. MONTE taught us ALL of that and it showed in our work and our successful business.
