DESCRIPTION

- An antique Victorian wedding/engagement ring box, estimated circa the mid to late 1800s. This ring box is covered in red leather and lined with ivory-coloured silk and royal blue-coloured velvet. It would add a unique touch to your proposal, engagement shoot or wedding ceremony or accompany a treasured piece of jewelry.

MEASUREMENTS

- Length: Approx. 30.2 mm

- Width: Approx. 22.5 mm

- Height: Approx. 31.7 mm

- The ring slot can accommodate a ring with a thin to narrow-width band (up to approx. 1.9 mm)

CONDITION 

- Overall, the ring box is in beautiful antique condition and still enjoyable for many more years to come. It bears signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Surfaces have marks and scratches that one would expect in a piece of this age. These ‘imperfections’ add character to the piece rather than take away from it

- There is light wear/loss to the leather, including scuffs and some pale grey paint on the leather

- The interior is clean and does not have any unpleasant scent

- There is minor fraying to the silk

- The hinge, hook, and eye closure work well. The closure is secure

- There is a slight misalignment between the lid and base when the ring box is closed

- There is no visible evidence of a previous repair or restoration
