Up for sale is a Vintage “Adventure” Pulp Magazine! This is the rare July 1945 issue, Volume 113 Number 3. This issue features Champ at Heart by Joe Archibald, Timber Tough by John Beames, New Guinea Gold (Part 1 of 3) by Thomson Burtis, Charge-of-Quarters by John Reid Byers, The Miracle of St. Merrow by Henry John Colyton, Willer the Wisp by H. S. M. Kemp, No Hiding Place Down There by Richard Sale, The Last Banzai by Sidney Herschel Small, and Signs of Treasure by Barry Storm, as well as several other articles and features. These are all the original first printings of these short stories and novelettes in any publication. This is a large 146 page pulp magazine published by Popular Publications
measuring about 9⅜” x 7”. The magazine features a wonderful painted
cover by pulp artist Virgil E. Pyles and several illustrations by
Charles Chickering, Nick Eggenhofer, Frank Kramer, John Meola, Virgil E.
Pyles, James Schucker, and L. Sterne Stevens inside. As shown in the
photos, the magazine is in very good condition for its age with some
cover wear, creasing, and light soiling, including a few small edge
tears as well as a 2” edge tear and some writing in pencil on the back.
The paper is intact along the magazine’s spine, and the magazine is
complete and remains well bound. Its interior pages are nice and clean
with very few light corner creases and no writing or large rips or
tears. It does have a rough fore-edge with some very small edge tears as is
typical for these old pulp magazines. This rare vintage “Adventure” pulp
magazine would make a great addition to your collection!
