Genuine, authentic, original typed letter signed and photograph with signature attached of Waffen SS Hauptsturmfuhrer Werner Damsch.

Damsch was a highly decorated German Elite Forces tank batallion troop commander during WW2.

Schmidt was known as Batallion Commander of the Waffen SS Panzergrenadier Regiment 25 with the 12th Waffen SS Panzer Division "Hitlerjugend" particularly during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 and the Battle of Hungary in 1945.

Because of his military service, Damsch was awarded the German Cross in Gold, the Infantry Assault Badge, the Wound Badge in Gold and the Iron Cross First and Second Class.

Damsch was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross on April 17 1945!

The 3.5 x 5 inch black and white photograph shows Damsch wearing his German Cross in Gold and on the reverse side a 1.5 x 3 inch paper slip with his signature in black fountain pen ink has been affixed, along with a long typed letter signed, March 15 1982, to Herr Moore, long description of his military service and he has signed his full name signature at conclusion in black fountain pen ink, postwar.  The signed foto and typed letter signed are in very good condition(sorry my old scanner shows dark areas, as the original is not dark whatsoever).  I purchased these from Todd Mueller Autograph Auctions last year.  Along with a modern, internet, unsigned print of Waffen SS soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge.  Total: 3 items
