This is a rare group of WWII memorabilia from the Persian Gulf Command. There isn’t a lot out there from the PGC other than patches, pins so this is a different group of items to include;

1- “I Served in the Persian Gulf Command book. It is about 38 pages and it talks about the endeavor of trying to get supplies to Russia to help defeat the Germans. The book is in good condition however the front cover came off and it looks like it was taped back on. Also there is a stain on the front along the binding(pics 10-12).

2- A PGC patch. It has a stain on the left side of the patch( pic 8).

3- 2 Arab alcohol labels. There are a few tears and creases(pics 5-7).

4-2 photographs. The small picture is of man who all these items belonged to. The larger picture is of he and 2 other servicemen working at the PX Depot. On the back it says it was taken May 1945. (Pics 2-4).

The man who is in the pictures was part of the 454th Engineering Depot. He was in the 2nd ship to arrive in Iran in January 1943. He was stationed in Iran for almost 3 years. He returned home in January 1946. He was part of transport and drove a truck for many months, then he did carpentry for a while, and his last job was setting up and working the PX Depot.
