Beautiful Vintage Wooden Box is decoupaged on lid with print of circa 1513 High Italian Renaissance fresco painting depicting The Nativity of the Virgin by Italian painter artist Andrea del Sarto (1486-1530).


Measures approximately 11.5” x 9.25” x 3”


The original fresco is located inside The Basilica della Santissima Annunziata (Basilica of the Most Holy Annunciation), a Renaissance-style, Catholic minor basilica in Florence, region of Tuscany, Italy. It is located at the northeastern side of the Piazza Santissima Annunziata near the city center.


This box has foil seal on bottom indicating it was made by FRANCO TACCHI Florence Italy.

Age is not confirmed, but estimated approximately circa Mid 20th Century.

Features green hand painted border and interior and gold gilt trim with light carved details.

Image of the original fresco by del Sarto is vividly colored with lots of detail and beautiful authentic patina of age in the form of light surface wear attributed to age, gentle use and shelf storage. Nothing that detracts from function or beauty. Definitely a vintage piece.
