Fine dining large double layered Pitcher Jug with metal chiselled lid.

Maker: Silver Plated : Rogers & Bro Waterbury Ct

Year: 1865.

This lovely silver plated pitcher was used for ice water before refrigeration was available. The two layers of metal kept the water cold. These pitchers were highly decorative and very popular in the late 19th century.

This pitcher has a classic theme with embossed and engraved repeated designs on the pitcher, lid, and handle. Great chiseling work in the metal look.

The pitcher measures 10.63 inches in diameter and 13 inches tall. A great accessory to hold kitchen utensils or fresh flowers, just add a glass insert to hold flowers.

For decorative use only.
