This is a beautiful 83 year old Ludwig snare drum dated July 1941 in white marine pearl. It looks like everything is original, even the cow skin drum heads. It is 14” x 6.5” in size and has very minor pitting on the chrome. It has yellowed some from age. The snare handle works great. The top head has some staining and a few holes and splits. The bottom snare head has no visible holes and is marked cow skin. The logo tag is in excellent condition and says Ludwig & Ludwig Chicago, IL. This logo was used in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s. It’s rare to find these drums in this great of condition. The shell looks to be made of a solid piece and not like the ones made today. I’m adding the PCP drum stand as shown included with the snare drum. The canvas case is stained.

This Snare drum was part of a Ludwig 1930’s and very early 1940’s drum set that was played by a person who was in the Army Air force during WW2 and was part of a swing band. The canvas carry case has his name stenciled on it . No telling where these drums have been with his travels. I will also be listing the Leedy foot pedal, Bass drum, and Tom drum individually.
