Original black and white 10” x 8” London News Agency Press photograph, not dated, but 2nd July 1927, depicting Jean Borotra and Henri Cochet, both full length at the net with racquets prior to their Wimbledon Final in 1927, won by Cochet, 6–4, 6-3, 6–4. Press copyright accreditation to verso along with fully printed caption. Slight crease and tiny corner loss to upper right hand corner, otherwise in very good clean condition.



Jean Borotra (1898-1994), France, one of the Four Musketeers, winner of four Grand Slams - Wimbledon (1924, 1926), Australian (1928), French (1931). Also twelve Grand Slam Doubles titles, and a member of the French Davis Cup team 1922-37, 1947.

 

Henri Cochet (1901-1987), one of the Four Musketeers, winner of seven Grand Slams - Wimbledon (1927, 1929), US Open (1928), French (1926, 1928, 1930, 1932). Also ten Grand Slam Doubles titles, and a member of the French Davis Cup team 1922-24, 1926-33. Double Olympic silver medallist in 1924.
