USA Sc. #J100, $1.00 PART SHEET OF 85, STRONGLY SHIFTED TO THE RIGHT, USED

USA STAMPS - ERRORS, FREAKS, ODDITIES

Sc. #J100, $1.00 Part Sheet of 85, strongly shifted to the RIGHT.  Exactly what you see in the scan.

You may have wondered WHY you seldom find USED EFOs.  It's multi-step complicated!

     1.  Printers who are contracted by the USPS are required to destroy misprints/errors, etc..  IF they discover them.
     2.  Any errors which reach the hands of local postal clerks will PROBABLY be spotted before they are sold for postage.  Clerks are also required to destroy or turn in such errors, IF they spot them.
     3.  Customers who find errors when they buy the stamps will probably recognize them and sell them to dealers....or if they are collectors, add them to their collections.  It's highly unlikely they will be used for postage.
...all of which makes used EFOs scarcer than mint.

NOW...if you run thru eBay looking for EFOs, you will probably find a few Postage Due stamps from the 1959 series with serious shifts in the numbers.  They will PROBABLY be mint.
This, and any other such lots I'll be offering tonight are all USED, mostly during the 1980s at one Post Office in CT.  They were properly used, as payment for a BUSINESS REPLY MAIL account.  Slapped on a Postage Due bill and cancelled.

Sc. #J100, $1.00 Part Sheet of 85, strongly shifted to the RIGHT.  Exactly what you see in the scan.

Extremely clean; this was NOT soaked off a Postage Due Bill and dried/pressed as were other items I'm selling tonight; it was cancelled OFF-Paper.  This was used in the town of Higganum, CT, a small village within the greater town of Haddam, CT.  I guess the P.O. there does things a bit differently, as you can see from the TYPE of cancel used, as well as the name of the town on the cancel.  They probably received their supply of Postage Due stamps from Haddam

ALL SMALL, "FLAT" SHIPMENTS -  stamps, Cinderella Items, Postal Stationery, Postal History and First Dav Covers - will be shipped in a Calumet hard cardboard mailer.  (See the scan at the right.)  This mailer offers much greater protection than bubble wrap, and is only a little heavier and more costly to ship.

Larger items will be shipped in corrugated mailers.

If you buy several lots, the shipping charges will be reduced.  You should see a pop-up button somewhere saying "Request Total from Seller".  Hit it...

U.S. SHIPPING CHARGES
for this item are $5.00 for a USPS First Class Package.  Insurance and tracking are FREE.

WORLDWIDE SHIPPING CHARGES for this item are roughly:
$19.00 for an International First Class Package to Canada
$20.00
for an International First Class Package to Mexico
$23.00 for an International First Class Package to the rest of the world.

A FINAL WORD - ABOUT MY SCANS:   What you get will be BETTER than what you see!  Computer scans often show darker or lighter areas which aren't on the actual item, and the larger the object to be scanned, the more areas will be affected.  Plus, I scan using a "cover sheet" to hold the item in place, and the plastic cover can creates glare.  And, I often use shortcuts because I just don't have the time to scan every item I sell; I sometimes have to recycle an old scan to illustrate a new item.

ALWAYS GO WITH THE DESCRIPTION!  Your item may look a LITTLE different from the scan, but it will match the description 100%.....and it will ALWAYS be a top-quality item.  My feedback on EBAY speaks for itself.
