The disappointment sets in the first time it's used as the buyer realizes just how flimsy the steel frame is, how poor the die cavity castings are, and realizes the thin rubber grips are the reason his hand hurts when squeezing the handles.

Already have a tool body and wondering if this die will fit it? Chances are good it may. I have found it fits similar tool bodies made by IDEAL & PALADIN, GREENLEE, and I'm sure quite a large number of others.

RF Connector fitment by crimping is the preferred method of attachment by many manufacturing companies and individuals due to the quickness, quality and low cost of attachment. Expensive solder and soldering equipment may be unnecessary with crimping.

Additionally, the new low loss coax cables such as the LMR series and others use gas-injected polyethylene dielectric (foam) which is very sensitive to heat.
Overheat the foam when soldering and it turns into a brown, tarry substance, distorting the cable shape, changing the characteristic impedance of the cable, which negatively effects transmission/reception. This dielectric distortion occurs mainly when attempting to solder the coax braid at the 4-holes in the body of a PL-259 connector, especially if the connector body is nickel plated.
