Working Theory
Improve the performance level potential of your Motorcycle and say adios
to sluggish stock fuel trim with the next generation Smart-Tune-X power
control chip module. Smart-Tune is a fully adjustable fuel controller,
also referred to as fuel tuner, designed for fuel injected motorcycles.
It is intended to remap the lean factory fuel map settings restricted
by the manufacturers. This ECU tuner simply wires in-line with the signal
wire of factory Air Temp sensor, which is a standalone probe or a part
of the integrated Mass Air Flow sensor, and wires into the exhaust air
fuel sensor harness on emission-controlled bikes in order to recalibrate
fuel maps for maximum performance potential. Smart-Tune-X fuel controller
is designed to trick the Engine computer into thinking that the intake
air is much cooler, and then the ECU will send more fuel for a richer
mix. Besides this it inhibits restrictions implied by the ECU on engines,
and the exhaust gas consistency is monitored by emissions-control through
an exhaust oxygen sensor. It also incorporates the outstanding In-built

High Notes
- Carbureted engines are not subject to being chipped
hence nonexistent Electronic Engine Management referred to as ECU or
ECM.
- On oxygen sensor models fitted with aftermarket exhaust
or header, Check Engine Light (CEL, MIL, FI) is triggered until you
wire up an oxygen sensor simulator in order to abolish ECU safe / limp
mode.
- Signals fooled by Smart-Tune-X will be restored to
factory by the ECU, until CEL issue is resolved completely.
- If top end speed is limited by factory speed governor,
RPM is restricted by rev limiter, or you are about to override the factory

Installation
Installation is Do-It-Yourself. Setup takes 30 minutes
for a proficient installer while do-it-yourselfers may conduct it in an
hour. You don't have to get your hands dirty installing the Smart-Tune-X
tuner. Setup and adjustment doesn't require special talent of installer.
Our easy to follow, step-by-step instructions will guide you, how to install
your performance chip in an hour or less, if you are lil electronically

are eager to assist you.
1. Locate the IAT (Intake Air Temperature), which is a standalone sensor
or the part of the integrated MAF (Mass Air Flow)/ MAP (Manifold Absolute
Pressure) sensor on the intake.
2. Cut the IAT signal wire and contact the purple wires to the two ends.
Polarity is not critical.
3. Find the Oxygen sensor (if any) in the exhaust.
4. Cut the downstream O2 sensor's signal wire between the O2 sensor head
and the O2 sensor plug.
5. Connect the black wire to the wire coming out of the oxygen sensor
head.
6. Connect the blue wire to the oxygen sensor wire coming out of the ECU
harness.
7. Fix the temperature sensor with any applicable method within or at
the inlet of the air filter box where air flow enters the intake. Tip:
Drill a 1/4" - 6mm diameter hole in the inlet side of air filter box to
drive in the sensor. Seal the hole with silicon or putty.
8. Contact the red hot wire of the red/black dual cable to the ignition
feed +12V, and ground the black to the engine frame or battery negative.
Installation Notes
- Leave the black and blue wire pairs disconnected if
the factory oxygen sensor is not fitted or eliminated physically or
electronically.
- For connections crimp with bullet connectors or solder
the wires in place. For soldering the O2 sensor plated wires employ
muriatic acid.
- Never power up the tuner on constant battery feed.
Please find an appropriate ignition feed DC12V on either the consumer
like the radio, wiper, or fuel pump activated by the ignition key, or
tap into the main fuse box. Warranty voids if the unit is miswired.
- In Lambda-Boost mode (emission-controlled motorcycles
with oxygen sensor only) the Dual emission control system reads constant
feedback through the fluctuation voltage of the stock oxygen sensor.
Smart-Tune automatically identifies the sensor type and voltage range.
The in-built oxygen sensor control unit helps to override that restriction
that would be implied by the factory ECU programming, as long as other
sensors' signals are being tricked. When do you use this option? In
the instance of street racing, hauling, or if other upgrades require
you to do so. Depending on the engine management type or performance
parts preinstalled, an oxygen sensor related trouble code check engine
light (CEL) might be triggered by Lambda-Boost mode. If so, test the
O2 sensor to see if it works in full fluctuation range. If the O2 sensor
doesn't work in full range, it is recommended to abandon this function.
Performance Adjustment
1. Turn on the ignition key. The 499-scale LED display lights up. Crank
the engine and wait until it reaches operating temperature.
2. Start the adjustment with quarter turns clockwise. After each turn
test the throttle response, power and acceleration on the fly.
3. Conduct comparative tests like 0 up to 15 MPH, 10 up to 50 MPH or 2000
up to 5000 RPM, etc, while riding your bike.
4. Settings for your specific engine unfortunately cannot be predicted.
Adjustment Notes
- Reset and restart: Dial the knob fully counterclockwise.
When Smart-Tune is unpowered or the knob is turned fully counterclockwise,
the engine runs in factory mode as if the wires were not cut. In this
case, factory signal readings are delivered the ECU.
- On Oxygen sensor models if the exhaust was modified
(header or free flow exhaust) and the check engine light is triggered,
a Magnum oxygen sensor simulator should be wired up in conjunction with
the Smart-Tune in order to remedy the ECU safe / limp mode.
- Claims correlate to factory condition engines. Malfunctions
of either related engine component, can result in no or minimum effect.
Please get the engine checked by a certified mechanic prior to installation
to avoid undesired inefficiency. It is highly recommended that you perform
a signal range scan on the O2 sensor (if any), the slightest defect
might prevent the tuner from working efficiently.
