Instruction for Macbook users (see images above):

Plug the Floppy into the USB port of your Mac
Go to Apple Menu > About This Mac > Click on System Report under Overview Tab
Scroll down until you see USB ... you should see TEACV0.0 under USB bus which means Macbook has recognized the floppy drive.  If it doesn't read your floppy disks, it may not Mac-formatted.  Floppy disks for Windows will not work on Mac O/S and vice versa.
