Bottom Bracket Installation Tools

This tool has been designed & manufactured in the UK. The handles are made of a durable CNC machined alloy press which has been anodised for extra durability with Stainless Steel handles. The M12 rod is 195mm long & made from stainless steel. We have tried & tested this tool in a workshop environment to ensure professional quality durability & complete corrosion resistance wherever the tool is stored.

The Drifts (Presses) are manufactured from a CNC Alloy & Anodised for durability & corrosion resistance.

The Drifts that press onto the outer races of a bearing have been designed to be fractionally smaller outside diameter so that they do not become stuck in a Bottom Bracket Shell

The Specifications are as follows:-

  • Pro Press Handles Set - Pair of CNC Alloy/Stainless Steel handles, 195mm Stainless Steel M12 Rod, M12 Thrust Bearing
  • Handles + BB30 Presses - Pro Press Handles + 2 CNC Drifts to suit 6806 Bearings (BB30/PF30/PF41 (30mm), Race Face Cinch 30mm - 30 x 42mm
  • Handles + SRAM DUB Presses (Press Fit Only) - Pro Press Handles + 2 CNC Drifts to suit DUB Press Fit Bottom Brackets 28.99 x 42mm
  • Handles + SRAM GXP Presses 1 - Pro Press Handles + 2 CNC Drifts (1 @ 24 x 37mm; 1 @ 22 x 37mm)
  • Handles + SRAM GXP Presses 2 - Pro Press Handles + 2 CNC Drifts (1 @ 25 x 37mm; 1 @ 22 x 37mm)
  • Handles + Shimano Presses (Press Fit Only) - Pro Press Handles + 2 CNC Drifts 24 x 44mm
  • Handles + 6805 Presses - Pro Press Handles + 2 CNC Drifts (Race Face X-Type 24mm) - 25 x 37mm
  • Handles + MR24377 Presses - Pro Press Handles + 2 CNC Drifts (Hope PF41/PF46 24mm) - 24 x 37mm
  • Handles + Full Set Drifts - Pro Press Handles + (2 x BB30), (2 x DUB), (2 x Shimano), (2 x MR24377), (1 x 6805), (1 x MR22377)
  • Pair BB30 Drifts - For 6806 bearings 30 x 42mm
  • Pair SRAM DUB Drifts - 28.99 x 42mm
  • Pair Shimano Drifts - 24 x 44mm
  • Pair GXP 1 Drifts - (1 @ 24 x 37mm; 1 @ 22 x 37mm)
  • Pair GXP 2 Drifts - (1 @ 25 x 37mm; 1 @ 22 x 37mm)
  • Pair MR24377 Drifts - 24 x 37mm
  • Pair 6805 Drifts - 25 x 37mm#
Please Note the drifts that press the bearings into the Bottom Bracket shell are slightly smaller outside diameter than the bearings so they won't get stuck in the BB Shell!!!

If you look after your bearings regularly you shouldn't need to replace your other washers & hardware. Keep everything well greased, avoid pressure washing at all cost & avoid using solvent based sprays & lubricants around your pivots as these dissolve the grease in the bearings

If you're not sure about compatibilty please ask.

Our Bearings Range!!

Chrome Steel (ABEC 1):- Great value for money sealed cartridge bearing. Hardened Chromium Steel balls in a steel cage with a generous grease fill.

Looked after with regular greasing & avoid pressure washers & solvent cleaners they will last well in normal off road riding conditions.

Stainless Steel (ABEC 1):- Great resistance to corrosion in harsh wet riding conditions. Grade 440C Stainless Steel balls in Stainless Steel cage & races.

Grade 440C stainless steels are high carbon steels, which attain the highest hardness, wear resistance and strength of all stainless steel grades after heat treatment. These properties make this grade suitable for applications such as valve components and ball bearings.

Very hard wearing with a high grease fill.

Hybrid Ceramic (ABEC 3):- These sealed cartridge bearings comprise of ZrO2 Zirconium Oxide (Ceramic) balls with nylon, low friction cages & stainless steel races. The ZrO2 ceramic balls have a much higher strength than steel, they are much smoother, therefore, produce less friction than steel thus having a higher speed limit. They are also lighter requiring less centrifugal force enhancing limit speed. They have a much higher temperature limit & far greater lifespan. They can run effectively with very little grease, reducing friction even further. Both ceramic & stainless are corrosion resistant. The ceramic balls can also resist chemical attack from acid, alkali & salt. The advantages of hybrid ceramic sealed cartridge bearings & high production costs are reflected in their price. A must for the DIE HARD racer!!

The Hybrid Ceramic BB30 Bearings

Bearing size: 30mm(ID) x 42mm(OD) x 7mm(W)

Balls: ZrO2 Zirconium Oxide ceramic balls

Type: Deep groove ball bearing

Cage: Nylon low friction high speed balls retainer

Closures: 2 x rubber sealed-races

Races: Stainless Steel - High Corrosion Resistance

Zirconium Oxide & Silicone Nitride ceramic ball bearings are superior to common steel ball bearings in many ways. Ceramic is the perfect material for any application seeking to achieve higher RPM’s, reduce overall weight.

Because ceramic ball is a glass like surface it has an extremely low coefficient of friction, high rigidity, corrosion resistance and is ideal for applications seeking to reduce friction. Ceramic balls require less lubricant and have a greater hardness than steel balls which will contribute to increased bearing life. Thermal properties are better than steel balls resulting in less heat generation at high speeds
