Offering a Rare
Marion County,
FloridaPast piece of History

From our personal collection
Which we'll be adding more of, here on eBay in as time allows.

A One Board, Primitive, Antique Trade Sign which appears that was converted to a Lid of sort ?

INDIAN PRAIRIE FARM
GLADYS COWART
Note that the original sign/letterings, were painted over, Early in it's life.
Which always lead us to believe, that this was originally a sign, and later a lid of sorts.
Still speculation on that.
Going by the ghost remnants of where either brackets or hinges
and latch once were.
I personally did some careful top coat dry paint removal,
the way It Should Be Done.
But I don't have the time to finish stripping.
I have Many Projects going right now.

Indian Praire Farm,
from Marion County, Florida,
Was north of Silver Springs, Ocala.
There was a Taxidermy Shop, ran by John Bogue,
who's specialty was Water Fowl and Poultry.
Gladys Cowart did Mammals, Mice to Ponys.
Tom Billman was the rare bird breeder.
Richard Koon did reptiles.
Ross Allen gave wilderness survival.
G.E. Turner handled the wilderness tours.
And the farm advertised wanting Rattlesnakes for the Reptile Institute.
HISTORICAL FOR MARION COUNTY
The Sign is Stout and Solid, made of mill cut wood.
Measuring 30" x 10 3/4" x 3/4"
