"When I set up Model Enthusiasts in 2004 the idea was to find out
what people with a Mamod engine needed to get the
engine running as it should.
That's still true today"

PISTON CYLINDER ASSEMBLY FOR

MAMOD STEAM ENGINES

TE1A  SR1A  SW1  SA1

Traction Engine / Steam Roller/ Steam Wagon/ Steam Roadster ... and more.

This is the Mamod Standard Piston and Cylinder

For: TE1A/ SR1A/ SW1A/ SA1/ MM2/ SP2/ SP3/ MEC1

It works with the TE1A, SR1A, SA1, SW1 (and derivatives).

The piston still has the two "extra power" piston rings which are perfectly cut.

This assembly is not for SE* engines or the MM1 engine.

We stock the SE* type on another listing.

Tip:
The first thing to do is to remove the screw/spring/washer prior to assembling to the engine.

The only slightly awkward part of the job is getting the screw thread to bite into the back of the cylinder when being assembled to the Engine Frame.

During fitting, one method is to start the thread biting by holding the screw into the back of the cylinder,  and turning the cylinder (minus the piston) for just a couple of revolutions.

Then finish off  by turning the screw by hand to a firm tightness.  You can use pliers for the BUT DON'T GO SO MAD AT IT TO STRIP THE SCREW THREAD.
