DESCRIPTION This is a superb addition to our product range, bigger and better equipped than others on the market. The package consists of two, shotgun cartridge style pots, one containing a glass bottle filled with potassium permanganate and the other containing a glass bottle containing glycerol. Both pots also contain kapok tinder to help propagate the fire. We even include a small pipette to assist in adding the glycerol. This is an ingenious and fun way to start fires... all you do is tap out a small pile of the potassium permanganate onto some dry tinder. Next, you gently drip an equal volume of the glycerol directly onto the top of the potassium permanganate (it helps to make a small dent in the top of the pile to hold the liquid glycerol). All you do now is wait... after a few seconds, the combination of the two chemicals will spontaneously combust into a very hot flame. If needed, the additional kapok tinder ( contained in both pots too) can be used as additional tinder. A truly fun and foolproof way to start a fire. The glass bottles can be used over and over again and don't worry about running out of either chemical... cheap refills are readily available in our shop. Have fun !!! WHAT'S THE SCIENCE BEHIND THIS?... Potassium permanganate, is a very useful chemical for every outdoor enthusiast's bug out bag. It has 3 main uses.. 1/ It is a strong oxidizing agent and when mixed with products such as glycerol, brake fluid or neat antifreeze, it starts a chemical reaction which produces a very hot flame in the wettest of conditions. 2/ You can use potassium permanganate as a water purifying agent. Just add a very few grains to some water just until the water shows a faint pink colour. If you've changed your mind, we just ask that the goods are returned in unused and saleable condition. We'll refund the whole purchase price of the transaction, less any postage element charged from us to you. You will also need to pay for the return postage to us.. that's only fair. In the unlikely event of faulty/damaged goods, obviously we will offer either a replacement or a full refund of total purchase price as well as the return carriage to us.
