This special combo pack features one set each of both Loose Fit & Tight Fit washers. Loose Fit washers have less friction at the point of hinge rotation making the stems feel loose and easier to open and close. Tight Fit have more friction at the hinge making them tight and rigid feeling, more difficult to open and close.
Oakley® X Metal® frames utilize these anti-friction washers located at the temple hinge point with one on the top and one on the bottom of the ear stem hinge. Over time, the original washers can wear and even tear away from the frames leaving your expensive sunglasses subject to excessive wear and tear at this critical joint. These washers will restore your hinges to like-new condition.
- Installation Directions -
1) Use hand sanitizer liquid to stick washer in position over hinge hole top & bottom sides.
2) Carefully insert the stem and washers in to the temple opening. Use a toothpick end to push the washer in to position.
3) Align the holes by inserting a toothpick in to the hinge hole.
3) While holding the parts in alignment with your fingers, pull the toothpick from the hole.
4) Insert hinge screw, tighten screw with screwdriver.
To extract the hinge screws that hold these washers in place, you'll need this high quality screwdriver.
