This listing is for a 550 paracord rifle strap that is Black on Black in color with metal quick release style swivels and adjustable from 34" to 44"in total length and is 1 1/8 inches wide.

Parachute cord (also known as paracord or 550 cord when referring to type-III paracord) is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope originally used in the suspension lines of parachutes. This cord is useful for many other tasks and is now used as a general purpose utility cord by both military personnel and civilians.

Real paracord is made of seven strong nylon cords with each cord made of several smaller woven strands, all wrapped in a flexible outer braided nylon wrapper. The combined breaking strength of real paracord is 550 pounds. For this reason, some call it “550 cord”. The inner threads are what makes 550 paracord so useful — The 7 inner strands removed and unwoven, a one foot length of paracord will yield between 14 and 21 feet of cordage

The cord was first introduced and applied in parachute construction during WWII and was quickly recognized for its use in other tasks. Today it is used by both military and civilians for countless general purpose tasks.

There are so many uses for paracord and the list goes on and on.  These are just a few:

  Tie tarp to trees
Lanyard to hold items (knife, keys etc)
Emergency snare (from one of the strands inside)
  Fishing line (from inner strands)
  Boot laces
  Dog lead
Emergency suture ( from inner strands)
  Wrap knife handle
  Clothes line
  Belt for your trousers
Emergency sewing thread (from inner strands)
Make a fishing net from inner strands
  Improvise a sling
  Pull cord for boat engine
  Emergency Tourniquet
