We have noticed sellers on Ebay selling Maxify cartridges filled or sold with dye based inks.

It is important to know that the OEM genuine cartridges are filled with Pigment Based Inks which differs from dye ink significantly (insert link - see here for further info).  Dye inks are a cheaper ink and fade significantly quicker (up to 50 times quicker) and if used after OEM cartridges can cause print quality issues.

Whilst you can run dye inks through this printer there is a significant risk that residual pigment particles will remain within the print head structure.  Dye ink is water based and cannot clean away these particles in most cases.  The result is small physical blockages to the printhead which produce poor print results (poor nozzle check, lines throughout print and overall poor prints).  It is recommended that you use pigment inks as per the OEM original cartridges to prevent these issues or manually clean the printhead with special cleaning fluids before converting to use a dye ink.
