Here we have a solid silver English hallmarked cigarette or cheroot
case of more petite dimensions, featuring an attractive engine turned
design to both sides, with a leaf border. Has a gilded interior. This is a
scarce 'patent applied for' design that features a sliding mechanism
that allows the hinged flap to open - revealing the contents.

Could be used as a card case.

Front inner bears the makers mark 'JCV' for John Collard Vickery, the
lion denoting sterling silver, the panthers head for London, and the date
letter 'K' for 1925. Also stamped 'PAT APPLIED FOR'.
Hinged side outer bottom has makers mark, lion and panthers head.
Hinged side inner top has makers mark, lion and date letter.

Please view the pictures above as they hopefully show all in detail.

The case measures 7.8  cms by 6.8 cms and weighs 97.4g.

The case shows signs of wear commensurate with age and handling.
There are surface marks/scratches. The hinge is a little loose and
would benefit from a new pin. It all still functions as it should.
