Listed is an incredible Rare "One-of-a-Kind" Wood Carrying Tote/Box. The jury is out on the original function and purpose that this beautiful wood Box was designed and handmade.
There is a strong possiblity that this was a Fishing Box/tote - In the photo, there is an extended wood section that has slits cut vertically and there are 2 small holes drilled in the bottom (to let any water out?)
The slits could have held fishing line while on the poles. Small compartments held lures?, etc.
Great Rare piece to own.
Outside dimensions: 30" length x 5 1/2" height (not including handle height but only sides)
Intitals have been stamped on one side (C.M.D. & S.)
Green paint can be removed or left.
