Here on offer is a
rare vintage art deco ladies Dunhill bakelite cigarette holder and case.
This holder came from the Trevor
Barton collection, a world renowned collector of tobacciana who died in 2008,
he had been amassing the collection for more than fifty years. Trevor Barton
received the rare honour of being inducted into the ‘Academie Internationale de
la Pipe’.
This is a simply
elegant cigarette holder in glossy black bakelite. It an elegant mouthpiece
fitted with a conical chrome fitting to hold the cigarette. The conical cup has
an embossed spiral design. The stem pushes into the chrome cup to eject the
cigarette.
The cigarette holder
retains its original case. The case is made in glossy black bakelite, the case
has a hexagonal profile with a waisted centre and a chrome bale to hang from a
chain. It unscrews in the middle to allow access to the cigarette holder.
There are no maker
marks, but this is identical to those made by Dunhill.
The cigarette holder
is offered in good vintage condition, it measures about 8.6cm in length.
