I
played the game and I am an umpire. Playing
the game was easier. Playing the
game, you just do what comes naturally and other people tell
you what to do. Being an umpire is a little tougher.
It requires constant study and practice. Doing what
comes naturally is often the wrong thing to do. It takes
training to compensate.
It takes study in order to anticipate. |

This
book is aimed primarily at the new or novice umpire, the youth league
umpire who has had no formal training (or perhaps just a clinic or two)
and wants to improve his/her game, and anyone thinking about getting into
umpiring. Certainly,
established umpires may look at this book as a refresher guide or use it
to help illustrate a point to a trainee umpire in a manner better than
they themselves might put it into words. Baseball managers might learn
from reading this book and become better managers. It is always nice to
know what the umpire is thinking. |
Wild Bill
Knowles is an umpire living in Florida. He has a knack for
explaining things so people at every level can understand. His
dad had coached many sports, so Wild Bill grew up in an environment
where explaining sports and interpreting sports rules was a way of
life. |

I will combine auctions. I accept PayPal for your convenience and mine.
In fact, I prefer it (less cost and fees to you and fewer steps for
me). I have to draw the line at used lawn mowers, bushels of produce, or dates with your sister.
