The back of this amulet shows the Paed Dan or Eight Sided Yant which is a sacred geometric design. The Paed Dan Yant gives protection to the bearer when traveling in every direction. The Paed Dan Yant has 2 sets of Eight Buddha symbols around the outer circumference. The Mantras or Kathas in the Paed Dan Yant actually serve a triple purpose. Firstly, they protect you when traveling. Secondly, the Mantras may be used when paying homage to the Buddha of the day. In Thailand, there is a different Buddha image assigned to each day of the week with 2 on Wednesdays, one for the morning, one for the evening. Thirdly, the Mantras for the day may be recited by people born on that day of the week.
