The first part of the story of Ruslan & Ludmilla in brief:
Ludmilla and Ruslan are married.
Ludmilla is magically abducted by the sorcerer Chernomor before they can consummate their marriage.
The king, Ludmilla’s father annuls the marriage and promises her hand to whoever can save her.
Rusland and his rivals go out searching for Ludmilla.
