ORIGINAL 1963 JOHN IRELAND COLLINS (1926-1982) 'SUNSET OVER CAMBRIDGE' OIL PAINTING

This is just a great original piece.  Fresh from a local estate auction, I thought this was a very good work.  I was not familiar with the artist but just thought it was a good rare work.  For those not familiar with the artist I have included his biography below.  This is a great mid century oil on canvas measuring 20 x 21 inches.  Signed and dated lower left.  Titled and signed again on the back of the stretcher.  A wonderful vibrant colorful image of the sun setting over Cambridge Massachusetts.  It looks like it was painted from one of the rooftops.  Painting is in excellent clean condition.  No issues or damage at all.  Original wood slat frame is simple and complimentary.  Ready to hang.  Frame measures 20 1/2 x 21 1/2 inches.

For those not familiar with the artist his biography from artprice reads: "
