Drive Bearing Replacement Set for South Bend 9" Model A,B,C Lathes

By ILION Industrial Services, LLC

Please note that these bearings are all original new stock and they are sold as a set only. The price listed above is for ONE Complete Set of 4 bearings. If you are rebuilding your lathe, please take a moment to look through our other listings for a completely illustrated manual on how to rebuild your lathe and drive train.

If the drive on your South Bend Lathe 9" model A,B,C or model 10k needs an overhaul, we now offer the complete bearing set here for your convenience. The four sintered bronze bearings are made by Oilite and are fabricated of porous bronze which retains oil very well and reduces wear on the shaft. The bearings are made to fit the 9" model A,B or C horizontal drive, and the Model A Underneath Drive. The model 10k horizontal drive uses a different bearing which is no longer available. The dimensions are .875" ID x 1.0" OD x 1.0" Long so please verify the size on your lathe before ordering. They cross reference to the original South Bend part number PT3658R1. Please note that some older lathes did not use these Oilite bearings and only had a plain cast iron bearing surfaces with and oil retention felt so please check for this as well. You should be able to see the bronze sleeve from the end of the shaft opposite the flywheel.

If you are restoring an older Southbend lathe, don’t miss your chance to pick up a set for your machine. If you need the oil retaining felts for the lathe, we offer those as a part of a complete rebuild kit for your lathe so please see our other listings for those items. Let us know if you have any questions. We are more than happy to help.
