NIDULARIUM INNOCENTII var. Erubescens
"Amazon Birdsnest"
This beautifully formed species Bromeliad has a most spectacular display of dark green leaves edged and lined with reddish brown and rusty red undersides. The nestled flower bracts are deep red and produce a succession of pure white flowers. Very attractive as a specimen plant and can grow to 30 inches across. An often overlooked genus from the lower canopy of Brazilian rainforests. The white Inflorescence appears in late Summer and last 3 or 4 weeks, the bract lasts many months.

Use an orchid type compost, humus and medium bark for a porous and slightly acid medium. Keep soil somewhat dry, water once or twice each week, mist leaves if practical. Most Bromeliads adapt well to greenhouse, home or conservatory conditions.  Produces offshoots and blooms reliably through the Autumn/Winter.

A Bromeliad very rarely found on offer, prefers filtered light
The Inflorescense appears in Summer and the pink bract lasts many months.

Prefers moderate to filtered bright light. Keep water in cups at all times.
(Note: Bromeliads are mainly supplied as pups, ramets, as divided from mother plants, they sometimes have some roots, not always,
this is normal, roots form fast on planting)
