the look

All Skywatcher ED telescopes consist of a two-lens full multivergütetem Objektiv.Eine of two lenses made of the very high quality FPL 53 ED glass, which has a low refractive power and anomalous partial dispersion. With this glass to lenses with very low chromatic aberration can be produced. In practice, / this represents an almost pure color corrected optics, without the known Fraunhofer refractors yellowish bluish color fringing. Thus, the optical system projects from high-contrast and there are finer details to the sun, moon and planets visible.

The ED refractors are both ideal for large area observation with 2 "-eyepieces, as well as for high-resolution Lunar and planetary observing with high magnifications." The theoretically possible maximum magnification can be achieved under very good conditions with Evostar-100ED 285 x and the lens system delivers still sharp and brilliant images. All ED optics are also photographed.

The two-element objective lens is fully multi-coated and utilises special, extra low dispersion FPL-53 fluorite glass for the virtual elimination of false colour. ED Apochromatic Optics: ED fluorite glass element mini mise chromatic aberration, provide higher resolution and superior contrast. Colour fringing around objects is virtually eliminated with this type of optics.
