This beautiful slope-shoulder model from Collings is inspired by the pre-war "golden era" instruments. Between 1930-1942 they build a new run of guitars that featured bracing, fret-access and body-dimensions that would define the features and sound of the modern acoustic guitar. Affected by these instruments Collings built the CJ-35. This variation of the CJ-model features a non-scalloped pre-war bracing with 3 tone-bars and a short 24 7/8 scale-length. The new design produces wonderful balanced deep piano-like bass and powerful full-bodied highs, complimented by a focused dynamic range exceptionally even tone projection. The result is a very versatile guitar which works good for nearly every play-style, fingerpicking or strumming! Our guitar features the option of a German Spruce Top which high stiffness gives extra strength to the tone of this instrument!
