COELOGYNE BURFORDIENSIS
Coelogyne burfordiensis is an extremely hardy orchid. It produces a beautiful show of sprays of large yellow green flowers with "black" lips each Spring. It will tolerate total neglect and still survive and flower. It is very suitable to be grown in the garden and is definitely an orchid everyone should have in their collection. This present stock are supplied as X2 large leaved pseudobulbs.

It is a native of Mexico to Costa Rica and Venezuela. It grows easily and will grow to huge specimens if allowed. It will tolerate full sun, although it prefers some protection in summer. About 30% shade in summer and full winter sun is ideal. Watering is not critical with as it has large pseudobulbs to contain large reserves of food and water. It does however prefer regular watering during summer.

For potting medium Growers generally pot in a course bark mix, but this orchid generally outgrows its container quickly and happily rambles over the edge and will grow on whatever it can find.
