AFX Flamin Cuda Funny Car Magna Steer Slotless Car Screecher #5784
Here up for sale is an AFX Magna Steer Cuda funny car molded in white with orange and red flames. This is the version without the side flames. The chassis has only signs of being factory test run years ago. The left window post has slightly wavy bends, and some paint imperfections and scratches are present on the roof. The brass pickup shoes show some corrosion marks. The slotless AFX Magna Steering chassis is technically not a Screecher but is oftened confused with those chassis. Screechers had a guide pin for slot car tracks, and Magna Steering chassis were a slotless design with a swivel front end. It comes with small magnets over the pickup shoes which were designed to keep the pickup shoes over the rails. The whole front wheel and pickup shoe assembly swivels. Motor runs. Tires are dried out from age, and due to a magna steer chassis design flaw the rear tires will spin and the car won't move forward on regular AFX or TJet track even if you add silicone rear tires for AFX cars, since the front magnets tend to create a lot of drag between the front end of the chassis and the rails. Interesting car to tinker with as is, or can be modified by freezing the front wheel assembly with glue and adding a guide pin to use on a slotcar track, removing the pickup shoe magnets to make it more like a regular slotcar. Car pictured is representative of the one you will receive but not necessarily the same one. Nice car to experiment with or for the funny car collection.
