The factory plate is very uncomfortable and does not offer any support for the rifle. One of the biggest complaints about AirForce Airguns is the uncomfortable feeling of the design. The factory buttplate is just a straight piece of steel with rubber padding and bites into your shoulder while shooting.
This plate is made to be ergonomically correct which allows for full support of the back end of the rifle without having to pull the gun into yourself to keep it aimed. This results in better accuracy and a more comfortable gun. The original butt plate feels like a broom handle while this one feels like a natural extension of your body. Most other buttplates are of the same width from top to bottom. The problem with that is that the bottom of those type often do not fit well into the under arm area. This one is designed to be a better fit and allow for support of the back end of the rifle. This buttplate allows for repeatable placement of the gun to your shoulder. Also allows for lighter force to hold the gun to your shoulder as this buttplate holds the gun on your shoulder way better than the factory plate.
