This huge antique bronze sculpture belonged to my great aunt who has now passed on. She acquired it in China and it was formerly used in a Buddhist temple. She told us that the figure wearing a horned mask and holding the incense urn high above his head, was a Chinese - Buddha ghost chaser or one who frightens away evil spirits. We children used to call it the Ghost Buster.

The interesting sculpture weighs 25 lbs and measures 23" in height, 14" in width and 11" in depth. The bronze has a lot of patina and I have done nothing to clean it except wipe the dust from storage off of it.  While doing that I noticed that the Ghost Buster has a dragon faintly tattooed on his tummy.

The sculpture is covered with hand applied embellishments of cranes, clouds and flowering plants.

There is some tarnish and oxidation on the metal. The incense bowl has some tarnish inside.

There is a tiny bit of damage with one applied crane on the back of the bowl not having his head. I included a picture of this with an arrow pointing to it.
