Beginning in 1950 the Chevrolet GMC Suburban was offered with double side by side doors  instead of just the lift and tailgate.    To save money and time on the assembly line,  the rear of the body was given long holes. 2 on each side..   In this way the body was ready to have a pair of double doors OR a lift and tail gate.  If you ordered the tailgate assembly,  then the unused vertical holes were seen and GM had to find a way to cover them.  (and also to prevent water from entering the body)  GM used long plugs!  See Photo.    These push-in plugs are now available in the set of 4 that are needed.    It is one of the final details a restored 1950 and newer Suburban with lift and tailgate must have!!!!     FREE POSTAGE

NOTE:   If you need these plugs to wrap around your side by side door hinge,  the thin "skin" in the center of the rubber plug can easily be removed with a common razor blade and it is ready for upper and lower hinge.    This is the FIRST TIME these unused hinge holes have had a way of being properly covered in a restoration since the 1950's!
