p13790. FAUFEL PINAS vel ARECA FRUCTA. Plate 502. (There is a slight greenish stain at lower left corner, outside of plate mark.) This is an early engraving of Phytanthoza Iconographia, by Johann Wilhelm WEINMANN. The complete work was published in Amsterdam from 1735o-1745.

Originally there were 1025 plates. I have been lucky enough to find a treasure trove of 39, which I am offering individually.

These botanicals are mezzotint and line engravings, finished by hand, on laid paper. Each measures 20" x 13 1/2" and are very bright and clean, with strong plate marks.
