Brightline B7 "Flight" Pilot Flight Bag - Improved again!
If you're anything like me, you've gone through umpteen flight bags during your flying career and have not been really happy with any of them.
Overall dimensions are 14" x 13" x 10.5" including side pockets. The interiors of the two main compartments measure 13.5" tall, 10.0" wide. One is 3" deep and the other is 4" deep. Bear in mind that it is a soft bag so it can expand slightly in every direction (but don't overdo it....)
This is perhaps the most useful flight bag ever designed. Some days you need more gear than others, and the B7 is designed to handle it all. You can carry a full set of flight gear for cross country and basic IFR flight, and then easily downsize to a smaller bag for those days when it's just a short VFR hop.
The B7 FLIGHT is designed to hold one or two full-sized headsets plus a full suite of charts, and of course your iPad, a handheld radio, plus all the small stuff you'll want along for the ride. It also serves as an unbeatable carry-on personal bag when traveling on commercial flights, or just as a terrific daily bag for a wide variety of personal and professional uses.
The front cap has a bunch of pockets organized into three main and six auxiliary pockets for mobile devices, keys, electronic flight calculator, camera, business cars, iPod, charger, batteries, flashlight, fuel tester....you get the idea.
The rear cap has two flat pockets on the outside. The main one opens from the top with a flap secured with Velco, and is a great place to stick your iPad. There is a second half-height slip pocket that's ideal for basic documents that you need fast access to - checklists, for example. It also has a zipper across the bottom to allow it to slip over the upright handle of a folding cart or rolling suitcase.
There is a specially-designed pocket on top of the 4" module to hold Sunglasses and their case. The 3" module is easily used to hold a library of charts, or a bulky iPad plus kneeboard, etc. A small collection of charts or flight docs can go in the spaces between the four modules. Surprisingly, a 13" Ultrabook or MacBook Pro can even fit into this "in between" space.
To top it off, there are also 2 additional side pockets designed to accommodate a hand-held radio, water bottle, pens, flashlight and so forth. The two larger center sections both have multiple attachment points for these, so you can put them where you want them. This is truly a completely user-configurable system. You're not stuck with somebody else's idea of what should go where (which was one of my pet peeves with earlier competing flight bags).
Here's the neat part - the different modules that make up the B7 can be assembled in ANY order. And, you can remove unneeded modules and reassemble what's left into smaller bags. Going VFR on a short day-trip? Remove the 3" module and - presto! - you've got a handy B4 Swift bag. Or, remove the 4" section and have a nice compact personal bag. Build a B0 SLIM by removing both center sections and zipping just the two End Cap modules together.
Any FLEX system module can be zipped onto any other, so the possibilities are pretty close to endless.
Includes shoulder strap and handle to accommodate different configurations.
Please note that FLEX modules WILL NOT WORK with the original Brightline bags; the zippers on the FLEX components are a different type and the bags themselves are larger.
There is a LONG list of options for the FLEX system. We are still adding options and components; if you need something you don't see, please ask.
3 year limited factory warranty.
Please note that free shipping is ground only within the continental US...thanks
