This listing is for a set of 5 wave washers described below, you will receive FIVE washers.

We believe these were designed as 60 mm x 80 mm but the actual dimensions are 2.385" ID x 3.085" OD which is slightly smaller than the metric OD and slightly larger for the metric ID.  They are .9 mm thick (.035").  They are 3-wave.  They are carbon steel with an uncompressed height of 6.5 mm (.258").    Since these are not machined parts there is a slight variance, all dimensions are +/- .010".  These were purchased from a high end scale manufacturer, these were taken from the assembly line and had no part number or manufacturer identified.

Wave spring washers are commonly used as cushion springs or spacers on a shaft in many applications. They are designed with a moderate load capacity with a moderate deflection range. Wave spring washers have linear load-deflection characteristics to approximately 80% of maximum deflection.

Wave spring washers, also called wave washers, generally have several curvilinear lobes. The wave spring washer is an efficient washer for obtaining loads when the load is static or the working range is small and the amount of axial space is limited. Wave spring washers often have three, four, or six waves, however, any number of waves can be produced. By increasing the number of waves, the thickness can be reduced for a given load at the expense of decreasing the amount of deflection and increasing the radial stress. Wave uniformity is important because the load rate doesn’t begin until all waves are evenly loaded.

Wavy spring washers are used in electric motors and other devices to pre-load bearings. This longitudinal pre-loading reduces noise and extends bearing life. 

Wave springs are precise flat wire compression springs that fit into assemblies that other springs cannot. Since the overall lengths and operating heights of wave springs are lower than those of conventional round wire springs, they will often reduce the size of an assembly by as much as 50%. Of course, this will also reduce the part weight and raw material cost of every spring produced.
