St. John The Baptist depicted as an angel, holding a scroll, foretelling / anouncing the coming of the Messiah, the birth of Jesus,

holding The Diskos, the eucharistic dish containing the infant Christ,

the Nativity, the birth of St. John,

the Martyrdom of John The Baptist, the Decollation / the beheading of Saint John

and the presentation of his head on a chalice to Salome, the daughter of Herod of Antipas

painted on wood, authentic old patina, some damages, some restorations (well done)

we do not agree with the date on the old tag on the back, that says 19th century, we believe it to be older

 messurements: circa 31,5 x 27,5 x 1,4 cm / circa 12.4 x 10.8 x 0.5 inch
