The English Hexapla is an edition of the New Testament in Greek, along with what were considered the six most important English language translations in parallel columns underneath, preceded by a detailed history of English translations and translators by S. P. Tregelles. The six English language translations provided are Wiclif's (1380), William Tyndale's (1534), Cranmer's (the Great Bible 1539), the Geneva Bible (1557), Rheims (1582), and the Authorised, or King James Bible, (1611), arranged in columns underneath.

The English "Hexapla" (from the root word "hex" meaning "six", such as a six-sided "hexagon") was printed in 1841 by Samuel Bagster and Sons of London, England. This wonderful resource of textual comparison is something no Christian's library should be without. Original rare printings of the 1841 Hexapla can sell for several thousand dollars. This book has become our most popular facsimile over the past few years. The English Hexapla Parallel New Testament has been called "a Bible collection in one volume." An excerpt of John 3:16 from the Hexapla is featured near the bottom of our English Bible History Page.

What makes this book so special? It contains the six most important English language translations of the New Testament, all arranged in parallel columns for easy textual comparison of any passage. Each left-hand page shows: The Wycliffe version of 1380 (the first English scripture), The Tyndale version of 1534-1536 (the first English printed scripture), and Cranmer's Great Bible of 1539 (the first Authorized English Bible). Continuing across each right-hand page is: The Geneva “1557” - translation actually completed in 1560, (the Bible of the Protestant Reformation), The Rheims 1582 (the first Roman Catholic English version), and the 1611 King James First Edition... all side-by-side, and also laid out so the passages roughly match-up top-to-bottom as well.

As if that were not enough, you also get the original Greek at the top of each page, and a comprehensive 160-page preface on how each version led to the next, and how we got our English Language Bible! Brought back into print for the first time in a century-and-a-half, this is the one book you will find yourself going back to again and again for comparative study of God’s Word. It quite literally shows you exactly how the English language itself changed, and the translation of scriptures changed, from the 1300’s through the 1600’s. Unique insights into the interpretation of Biblical texts are available in the Hexapla, which are not available from Bible-study aids in print today.

This CD-ROM contains this title in PDF format, for viewing only in your computer. This CD cannot be played on the CD player hooked up to your TV or stereo.

Hard cover versions of these works have sold for 10 times or more the cost of this disk. With our CD, you can read, study, and print out the pages as many times as you want.

All of our disks are labeled with a clean label and some graphics. The disks are made this way for speed and cost, which translates into lower cost for you. We focus our efforts on the quality of the material on the disk. We do not believe in charging you an extra 3 or 4 dollars like some companies out there just to throw in a 25 cent plastic case and slap a color label on an item. We believe you purchase for content, and ours is the best, although we still believe you will be pleased with the presentation.

The estimated delivery dates shown above are ebay's estimates, not ours. Sometimes ebay's dates are completely unrealistic. Every effort is made to get your item out the next day, but once it leaves us, we ask that you please understand that we do not guarantee delivery by any date, since the USPS does not give us a guarantee either. USA CUSTOMERS: Most times, your package will arrive in about 1 week after we ship them depending on where you are at. However, lately the Post Office it seems has not been very cooperative with us and we've had a couple of customers wait a few days longer than that. If the item does not arrive, please email us directly and let us know, and we will make it right.

NON-USA CUSTOMERS: Same deal above, except your packages typically have been taking about 2 weeks or so after we ship them. We've noticed that maybe 20% of overseas customers have been waiting as long as 4+ weeks for these shipments. The only explanation we can come up with is that it must be stuck in some container in some dock waiting on customs clearance. It happens, and for those 20% of customers, we apologize, but there is very little we can do about that. Your disk will arrive or we will replace it.

Multiple items purchased by the same customer may or may not be shipped in the same package, at our discretion. We do not offer any additional discounts on multiple items other than the ones noted above.
