Strong, soil-resistant Whitman albums with blue textured leatherette cover are designed with thumb notches for easy window removal.
Peace dollars were designed by medalist Anthony de Francisci.
The first coins were struck in December, 1921, but it wasn't until January, 1922, when they were put in circulation. Peace dollars are made of 90% silver and 10% copper.
They are the last of the dollars series to be struck in silver for circulation.
The coins measure 38.1 mm in diameter and each weighs 26.73 grams.
Peace dollars were coined at the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints.
