Description

MR-5100P REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM

The MR-5100P reverse osmosis filtration system is a high-volume water purification system designed especially for water supplies with low or inconsistent water pressure. The reverse osmosis (RO) process requires a steady water pressure between 40 and 60 PSI to function properly. If the water pressure is too low or inconsistent, the efficiency and water output of reverse osmosis systems suffers. Water sources with low or inconsistent water pressure include wells, office and apartment complexes, and municipal water supplies with variable water pressure. The MR-5100P is ideal for RVs because campground water supplies often have low-pressure distribution systems. The high water production rate makes the MR-5100P suitable for commercial and industrial applications that require a continuous supply of purified water. These industries include laboratories, hydroponics, optical grinding and dental offices. The MR-5100P filtration process starts by first removing solid particulate matter like iron oxide (rust) particles, sand, loose calcium scale and insect parts. This prevents the filtration systems from clogging while eliminating these solids from entering your drinking water. Next, the water flows through two solid blocks of activated carbon. These twin porous compressed carbon block filters remove disinfection water treatment chemicals, like chlorine, chloramine and chlorine dioxide, that are responsible for taste and odor problems. Carcinogenic disinfection byproducts, called THMs, are removed by the carbon filters. The twin carbon cartridges also remove organic contaminants like VOC solvents, MTBE from leaking gasoline tanks, herbicides, insecticides and industrial chemicals that seep into groundwater. The next step involves the reverse osmosis (RO) process. The booster pump automatically adjusts the incoming water pressure to the proper pressure. As water flows through the RO membranes, heavy metals, like lead, copper and mercury, are removed while purified water passes through. The RO membranes also remove sodium, chlorides, fluoride, radon and nitrate. The purified then flows through a granular activated carbon (GAC) polishing filter. This cartridge removes any traces of tastes, odors and gasses, for crystal clear, sparkling drinking water.

The APEX MR-5100P also includes a water storage tank and designer dispensing faucet. As the RO filtration system makes purified water, it fills the water storage tank (up to 100 gallons per day). The storage tank supplies purified water to the designer faucet for drinking, meal preparation and pets. Your regular sink faucet will provide unfiltered water for washing dishes and clean-up tasks.

The APEX MR-5100P filtration system is pre-assembled and wet-tested. The filter system can be installed with simple hand tools. We recommend installation by a licensed plumber to insure adherence to all local codes. Routine replacement of the filter cartridges is recommended to maintain filter performance. Replacement cartridges are available from APEX Water Filters.
