Description:    This is an adorable owl by Zuni artist Craig Halloo, who is known for his owls.  He is made of antler.  He has carved wings and tail feathers.  His eyes are inlaid Mother-of-Pearl. His beak is also Mother-of-Pearl.  Around his eyes has been blackened  to accent his eyes.  He has notched claws and sits on a stump.   He is signed C & D Halloo Zuni.  To the Native American owls represent wisdom, patience and endurance.  It is also the keeper of the night.

     Many people collect fetishes today due to the diversity of the Zuni artisans and the meanings associated with them.  Also the beauty of the stones used, which are often incorporated into the design of the animal. They are small sculptures with spiritual meaning and are portable and evoke emotion when held and viewed.
